Take Time Relaxation has served the town of Bethel and the Danbury area since 1994, offering therapeutic massage, chair massage, a variety of classes and on-site programs to the community. Take Time was originally owned and operated by long-time Bethel resident, Irene Mardal.Take Time offers a unique, peaceful, tranquil respite from the hectic pace of daily life. About Darryl Soifersmith, Take Time Owner and Licensed Massage Therapist
Darryl was born in Newfoundland, Canada and was raised in Union, NJ . In September of 2004, he moved to New Milford, CT and began working at Take Time one month later. Since Take Time was a place where Darryl could spend his work day focusing on clients needs, it was an ideal place for him.
When Darryl was introduced to Massage Therapy, he was working as a production planner for a printing company. Based on the advice of a friend, he turned to massage therapy as a way to manage the anxiety and mood changes caused by his occupation. After receiving his first session, Darryl was ready for a career change. As a client, he was impressed by the level of self-empowerment and self-responsibility massage could offer him. He figured if massage could help him, he could help others by becoming a massage therapist.
Darryl graduated from the Somerset School for Massage Therapy in Somerset, NJ (now called the Cortiva Institute) in October of 2002. This program provided him with an unmatchable learning experience about the human body and social interaction. While living in New Jersey, he worked at the Massage Bar at Newark Airport where he provided seated massages to ease the tension of traveling. He has taken continuing education courses in modalities that were of particular interest to him. These courses have broadened his scope of practice in the areas of reflexology, prenatal massage, and reiki (level 2). He is also certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and maintains a membership with the American Massage Therapy Association.
Prior to his Massage Therapy career, Darryl earned a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. He has been employed by architects, an advertising company and a printing company. He has also worked as a proof reader for an accounting firm and as a caterer.
Outside of work, Darryl and his wife Elyse enjoy spending time with their twin babies, Hannah and Hudson. During his free time at home, he enjoys watercolor painting, especially house portraits. Cooking, hiking and traveling are some of his other personal interests.
